EXTENSION OF THE EARLY REGISTRATION FEE PAYMENT FOR THE 12TH TAWIRI SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON 4TH-6TH DECEMBER 2019

The Organizing Committee of the 12th TAWIRI Scientific Conference is kindly informing you that, the early registration fee payment which was closed on 30th June 2019, has been extended to 15th August 2019. Please be informed that, after that there will be no further extension

We would like to bring your attention to the following important updates (especially for those who have not yet submitted their abstracts):

Abstracts submission

Call for abstracts is open from the

Call for abstracts was open from the 05th March and will be closed on 15th August 2019, kindly submit your abstract before the deadline. Abstracts should be limited to a maximum of 300 words for both oral and poster presentations. Specifically, the abstract should be organized as follows; title, name(s) of author (s) and addresses, brief background/objectives of the study, methodology, results and conclusions. Keywords should not be more than five arranged in alphabetical order. Addresses for corresponding author(s) should be indicated. Authors of accepted abstracts for oral/poster presentation will be notified by August 30 th 2019 latest.

Symposium, workshops and Seminars

Kindly note that, this year we are also inviting organizations, individual researchers, Non-Governmental Organization, Civil organizations, government institutions, local government authorities and all those who wishes to organize special symposium, workshops, seminars and round table discussions to liaise with the organizing committee early in advance.

This year, Symposium, workshops and Seminars will be organized a day before the main Conference dates, while those who wishes to organize short round table discussions will be arranged in the evening after conference hours. Abstracts for symposium, seminars and workshops should indicate the title of the symposium/workshop/seminar, organizers, number of presenters/participants and their topics for presentation, please submit your request before 15th August 2019 to enable organizers to complete the logistics.

KINDLY NOTE THAT, This year all symposium, workshops and seminars will be organized one day before the official opening of the conference. Each organizer will be requested to contribute small amount as part of his/her sponsorship to cover the conference venue for that specific event. The organizers who will contribute their institute logos will printed in all the conference materials as conference sponsors.

For easy follow-up of your submissions, please use this email,individual emails (i.e. to TAWIRI staff personal emails) will not be considered.

Presentations and submission of full paper submission

Oral or poster presentations at the conference will be subject to submission of full manuscripts.Deadline for submission of full papers is 30 October 2019. The length of each full manuscript should not be more than 12 pages including references (single spaced). For poster presentation,the poster size should not exceed 120 cm x 90 cm. Registration fees

A. Early bird registration fee

The following rates in categorized groups will be applied per person:-

  1. East Africans: 270,000.00 TZS
  2. Non East Africans: 250.00 USD
  3. Tanzania’s Students: 200,000.00 TZS

B. Late or onsite registration

Late registrations for all categories listed above will pay an additional cost of 30% of the early registration fees.

Important notice on registration

i. Early bird registration is open from 5 th March – 30 th June 2019.

ii. Tanzanian students must send to TAWIRI supporting letters from their institutes/universities/colleges and a copy of their student ID.

iii. East Africans should provide evidence of their identity (i.e. submitting a copy of the Passport cover and first pages (Kenyans, Ugandans, Rwandans, South Sudan’s and

Burundians).

Payment of registration fee:

Mode of Payment

Following the current Government payment guidelines, before making any payment please request for a control number from the accounts office by sending an email to

conference@tawiri.or.tz. Important: Do not make any payment using our traditional method, currently only government

electronic payment Gateway (GePG) is allowed to settle all the bills. For further clarification regarding payments, kindly contact Mr. Daniel Wanna using this email address (daniel.wanna@tawiri.or.tz) ,remember  to  provide your personal phone number and National lD Number when your requesting for Control  Number.

Language

The conference language is English.

Venue

The conference will be held at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) in Arusha municipality, Arusha, Tanzania

Accommodation

We recommend participants to make their own hotel bookings. Arusha has a range of good hotels and lodges. Alternatively, contact the TAWIRI Conference Organizers in case you need assistance.

Tourism and sight seeing

Arusha city, popularly known as the Geneva of Africa is the hub of tourism activities in Tanzania, with a number of nearby tourism attractions including Arusha National Park,Kilimanjaro National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park, cultural tourism centers etc. Participants interested to participate in tourism activities before or after the conference should contact any of the tour companies in Arusha/Tanzania or the TAWIRI Conference Organizers for help.For more information and updates, please visit the TAWIRI website (www.tawiri.or.tz) from time to time or contact the organizing committee.
